Urban Sparrow Trust
Restoring safe nesting spaces for House Sparrows in UK towns and cities
✴ House Sparrow
(Passer domesticus)
A Community-Led Conservation Effort
Urban Sparrow Trust began as a one person initiative driven by a simple goal, restore safe nesting opportunities for house sparrows in built-up areas.
We are now seeking:
Local volunteers
Schools interested in biodiversity projects
Housing providers and residents
Community groups
to help expand responsible sparrow habitat across towns and cities.
Practical Habitat Solutions
We design and install sparrow terrace nest boxes suitable for colony nesting. Installations are carried out with property owner permission and positioned in safe, appropriate locations.
Urban Tree & Shrub Planting
Where possible, we promote the planting of native trees and shrubs that provide food sources, shelter, and insect support essential to sparrow populations.
Responsible Habitat Management
We work within UK wildlife law and promote non-invasive monitoring. We do not disturb active nests and refer injured birds to licensed wildlife rehabilitators.
Our Story
Urban Sparrow Trust founded in 2026 is a small, independent conservation initiative focused specifically on house sparrows.
Rather than broad campaigning, our approach is practical and measurable, increase the number of safe nesting sites available in urban areas and promote habitat improvements at a local level.
We are currently founder-led and seeking to build partnerships with volunteers, schools, and local organisations. As the initiative grows, our aim is to transition into a formally registered UK charity with appropriate governance.
